I miss those days
I read an entry in my cousin's blog and my tears juz fell. She was writing about the the people from my mum's side, narrating about my grandma's funeral. It brought all the memories back -- all the memories that are fading off. Now i wanna continue what my cousin wrote about my childhood's days.
The adventures of the do-re-mi-fa - ah boy, ah min, ah ting and ah jing. :) The age difference between the four of us is exactly 1 year. Although I rank third, sad enough to say I am the shortest. Every weekend is ah mah jia's day. We played all sorts of games and I can remember our 3 favourite games very clearly. The first one is hopscotch. I think we are all very power in hopscotch. Hehe. We always continued the game until all of us have more than 1 house and there wasn't any empty spaces left for more house. Oh ya, we would juz use a chalk to draw the hopscotch on the floor at the corridoor. Hmm is this considered as vandalism??
Our second game is the staircase. Haha it might sound silly but we can do all sorts of tricks on the stairs and its railing. We actually climbed and stood on top of the railing or ride on the railing as if it was a horse and slided down. Over the years we have discovered and pratised many acrobatic stunts. A lot of such stunts were very dangerous as a wrong step could make us fall. The other three of them were very good at this. Well their cousin here is a bit less bold who is scared to fall and broke her nose.
The third one is the jia-jia game. Hehe jia-jia means pretend. We would pretend we were some characters, princess, bandits or whatever and come out with lines. It was very fun cos children simply always loved to act as someone else. I always wanted to be the princess and sometimes ah jing would be my maid and followed me around. Muahaha. And i think ah boy is always the bad guy and ah min the brave one. Hehe so funny. But the game would become boring after a while and we would be ourselves again.
Not to mention, one of our favourite places is the ma-ma shop at the opposite block. Our favourite was the 10 cents ice-cream. And, at that time, sweets were only at 3 for 10 cents. However, the shopkeeper didn't seem to like us. Heh, probably we were too rowdy and would always poke at his ice-cream.
I can remember once we found an abandoned fishtank at a far corner of the block. There were still little fishes in the tank. Hence acting like powerpuff girls, we decided to save the fishies! The next day, I brought along a container from home and we used it to keep the fishes in. We were nice children right? :P But can any of you remember what happen to the fishes in the end?
Years have passed and time doesn't stop and wait for us. We are all grown-ups and a few more years down the road, we will get married and have children of our own. We can no longer go back in time and be what we used to be. We can no longer get together again and play the same games. But i know we still share the same bond and reminisce the same fond memories.
Yeh I swear these are the best days of my life.
