Vietnam Day 3 - Hoi An

The second day at Hoi An was an agony for me as this was the day when I was sick. Thanks to my travelmate who had been taking care of me the whole day :)
We woke up quite early in the morning for our trip to one of Vietnam's World Heritage Sites - My Son. It's all rocks and greens everywhere. Not a place which we could appreciate. Not especially when your stomach is killing you.

I realised we never really taken many photos in My Son. Haha. To be fair, I didn't even walk around looking at the relics. I only enjoyed the jeep ride back to the main entrance.
Back in Hoi An town, we had lunch in a small eatery (which is of course featured in Lonely Planet). dumpling noodle soup and white rose. The vietnameses really love the fish sauce.

There's nothing much to do so we just walked around the town. We ventured a little further and managed to get a cheaper bottle of mineral water. The lady who sold us the water actually wanted to get us to do manicure. But we were too skeptical about it. I think she could tell that we were hard nuts to crack so she changed her strategy and tried selling us mineral water instead. Yeah, she succeeded.

We spent quite some time sitting by the riverside, just talking and taking silly pics. Very relaxing. One of the best moments of the trip :)

Then we saw truck with pipes that suck up water from the streets. As it had been raining non-stop in Hoi An, the stretch of shophouses just beside the river was flooded. And, it did not look accessible at all unless by boat. However, when we went back the next day, it was dried up and the shop owners were even out soliciting for business. We went to one of the shops for dinner and got freaked out when the water level got higher and higher. :S

The vietnamese spring rolls and seafood soup.
A picture that I captured while sitting by the riverside. My favourite shot of the trip.

Before we went back to our hotel, we went to the tailor shop to collect our clothes and took a picture with the kawaii tailor. Poor girl. She works very hard. The thing is that even though she tries very hard, it seems that she can't really get out or improve her current situation - be it the lack of opportunity or ability. We always never realise how fortunate we are.

Bedtime! But still couldn't resist taking another picture of our pretty bed, with rose petals! Hehe.
